Local Area Information                                

 Olive Groves and Vineyards, you will love this very secluded location.

There are Olive trees, Almonds, Pears, Plum, Figs and other fruit trees on our land, approximately 4,000 meters.  We have an abundance of wildlife that  visit regularly, we feed these daily while we sit and watch them over a cup of coffee, these include a Red Squirrel, Collared Doves, House sparrows, Wild Canaries, Wild Parrots, Blackbirds, Thrushes, and  many other species.

Sax is a small village of about 10,000 people; It also boasts 5 Banks along the High street.

The High street is peppered with shops and restaurants and coffee shops.

Also an indoor market - and an open air market - on Monday's.  There is everything from fruit and vegetables to clothes, a real Spanish market with a selection of vegetables of every description and very low priced.

As you stroll down the High Street come evening time you will find  most all the restaurants and Cafés have outside tables where a glass of wine or cool beer can be enjoyed to sit and watch the folk pass by.

Several supermarkets are found in SAX. If you want a larger type store then Carrefour’s is five minutes along the road - they are like a large Tesco type store.

The Airport is 25 minutes away by car, the Motorway runs right past Sax, so you can hop on and off easily for longer trips.

A train Station and a local bus service are available for Alicante shopping, if you wish not to drive yourself.

We are surrounded by many small villages some are only 10 minutes to reach - for those extra shopping trips.

The Castle in Sax stands on a rocky outcrop, at night the castle is illuminated, all though the rock outcrop it is perched on ...  this is not lit. This gives the appearance of the castle hanging in the air like a Disney World scene.

The village of Sax is visible from our home – it is located just beyond the Olive groves and Vineyards and can be seen clearly from the picture window in the kitchen.

Sax also has a nice Hotel with reasonable rates and good food, so your friends or visitors will find it excellent value.

                               Also garden centers for plants and bushes, plus garden ornaments etc.

   Some points about our home.

1. The main entrance is opened by electronic gates with infrared safety features. Car parking for several cars if needed both to the front and side.

2. Conservatory The conservatory picture windows has shades over each window (3) and the glass windows are Internally laminated against any accidental breakage,  it also a ceiling fan with built in lighting. You enjoy simply gorgeous views when relaxing or dining. There is also electric under floor heating if needed. ( used only once to try it ,never used it since)

3.We have chosen good quality tiles throughout (there are 3 rooms with what is referred to as carpet borders incorporated on the tiled area one  has a wood feature floor pattern set among the other tiles, so very realistic.

4.  Air conditioning in all major rooms - also in the main sitting room. (total of 4 units  if needed)

5.  Sitting Room:  This has a splendid woodstove that gives wonderful heating - come the short winter. All the wooden doors are all hand finished in beeswax for that beautiful luster it brings to the woodwork, all complimented by a beamed ceiling and a carpet tiled floor surround with a double styled French window.

6.  The corridor to the Self Contained Apartment has beautiful tiled flooring and a stained glass leaded window to compliment the corridor, complete with antique ornamental wall lights.

7.  Additional Self Contained Apartment. .The kitchen and combined sitting room has another carpet tiled border consisting of  a wooden tiled central area. The bedroom has a large built in wardrobe. An ornate leaded window compliments the bedroom. A separate bathroom with shower and ornate Spanish wash stand with mirror. From this sitting room the Double French style windows  lead to the rear walled garden.

 8.  Main kitchen was specially built for us - we added the kitchen extension (with Picture a window.)  It has further windows with pleated fall blinds on the windows. You will find it a delight to use for breakfast or other meals.  (with concealed overhead  lamps above the dining table) All the units are real oak and finished to a high degree of excellence by a local craftsman.

      A built in dishwasher, a double cooker and a large built in fridge behind double oak doors. The ceiling is vaulted with ten beams and Spanish style suspended lamps also a red pellet stove, the pellet stove is simply switched on/off so easy to use. There is electric under floor heating if needed. (We used his once,only once to try it never used it since)

9.   A special feature is the wonderful Pellet stove, the stove burns a hard wood pellet obtained localy (readily available)  it has very little ash - as it switches on and off like an electric fire - but much more likeable - it is fully controllable heat wise and looks stunning - so easy to use for instant warmth when needed.

10. Walk in Pantry A large fully equipped and shelved out for all those utensils, complete with a large corner freezer.

11. Utility Room with washing machine, tumble drier, a small sink unit with cupboard. Also a double storage cupboard, The rear door has a panel section you can leave open to enjoy the mountainous views.

12. Computer room & office with internet and telephone with pleated fall blinds on the windows.

13. A Walled Garden.  To the rear  is a walled garden, easily maintained - Apple, Plum, Palm tree. With a cactus garden on the opposite side. The whole garden has a water piped system for easy watering, simply turn the tap. With double gates leading off into the land area.

14. We also have a large underground water deposit for fresh water with a system to feed the household should a disruption occur. (never used)

15 The whole property is fenced with honeysuckled plants that give the beautiful aroma when in bloom, plus pink Oleander trees and many others shrubs.

16. Swimming pool  A recently re-tiled pool  automatic in operation, it is surrounded by large trees, very private. A tiled area with table and 8 chairs plus sunshade. The seating area is nicely tiled, complete with a green carpet type grass surround

17.  Workshop  A large workshop is situated at the back which has mains electrics. Shelving and benches

18.  A Wood Shed:  A good sized wood storage unit for the logs.

19. The side garden has many perennial plants with underground watering also to the side borders of the property. A further garden table and chairs with sunshade in this corner.

20.   All in all  - This home stands with mature trees,  Ample Parking and pink gravel surrounding the property.
